Below are descriptions of (followed by links to) three items that speak to my awareness
Item One:

My Cultural Analysis and My Personal Identity Development: The Implications for the Counseling Relationship, a reflection paper examining the impact of group, racial, religious and sexual identity upon my counseling relationships. This examination demonstrates my ability to self-reflect and gain awareness.
Item Two:
As I listened to the video Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction the content spoke to me.  Mindfulness is described as “the relationship with your own mind.”  The video, along with my reflection, will demonstrates my awareness of and my newfound appreciation of mindfulness.
Item Three:
Analysis of the journal article The Modular Assessment of Risk for Imminent Suicide (MARIS): A validation study of a novel tool for suicide risk assessment. I learned through this article that if “I felt dismissed or devalued” by the client that it is a warning sign regarding their suicidal intentions. This article fundamentally illustrates the importance of counselor self-awareness and the impact that our awareness of self and of our relationship with the client is protective and important.
